Lecture: Something Happening Here: The Long 1968 in the U.S. and the World

UNC-Chapel Hill history professor Donald Reid will discuss the social, cultural and political milieu of the year 1968. The lecture is offered in conjunction with the Wilson Special Collections Library exhibition Sounds of '68: Revolution in the Air, which is on view in the Melba Remig Saltarelli Exhibit Room of Wilson Library January 13 - April 22, 2018.

Donald Reid is a professor of history at Carolina. An historian of modern France, he has published books on coal miners, the sewers and sewermen of Paris and the memory of the Resistance. His study of radical workers and their supporters, Opening the Gates: The Lip Affair, 1968-1981, will be published by Verso this May.
