Celebrating the William Thomas Minor, Jr. Endowment

Reception and dramatic reading from the Captain N.H. Massie papers

Join members of the Minor family for a celebration of the William Thomas Minor, Jr. Endowment. The evening will feature a reception, a dramatic reading from the Captain N.H. Massie papers and remembrances of William “Bill” T. Minor, Jr. ’34, J.D. ’40.

In 2013, descendants of Bill Minor established the William Thomas Minor, Jr. Endowment in his honor. The fund helps the Southern Historical Collection at the Wilson Special Collections Library collect, preserve and provide access to primary resources that document the American South.

Among those resources are the papers of Captain Nathaniel Hardin Massie, the father of Bill Minor’s wife, Kathreen. The papers document Massie’s courtship of Kathreen, and Massie’s military service during World War I and World War II. Also included are materials related to Massie’s military service, including snapshots, postcards and maps related to France and Belgium in World War I.
