The Canon M400 Camcorder records to an SD card in a compact and lightweight body. This camera is suitable for nearly all situations. It is compatible with all the microphones MRC checks out. It has a fully automatic mode, but if you prefer to have more control, it has the option to enable any or all of the manual controls.

The M400 camera is basically the same camera as the M500. The primary difference is that on the M400, the mic jack is on the right side of the body, by the lens, and on the M500, the mic jack is on the left side of the body, near the battery compartment.
