Library Discovery Hour: Inside Campus History
Over the past 50 years, Carolina has developed one of the most successful women’s athletic programs in the country, winning 39 NCAA team championships. The University Archives in Wilson Library make it possible to follow the story of women’s athletics through the years. In this presentation, University Archivist Nicholas Graham will focus on the history of field hockey at Carolina, tracing its development from club teams in the 1930s who had to fight for practice space into a championship-winning program with a dedicated stadium. The presentation will feature images of original documents and photos from the archives.
