Coding with GenAI

This workshop is being offered remotely via Zoom only. Registrants will receive a Zoom link; those on the waitlist will not receive a Zoom link unless they are bumped up to a registered spot. After the workshop, registrants and those on the waitlist will receive a link to the workshop recording.

 

Interested to learn how Generative AI can help you with your programming projects? Whether you're just learning how to code or are an experienced programmer, GitHub Copilot may be a great AI coding assistant for you. This workshop covers how to get free access to GitHub Copilot as students or educators through GitHub Education. We will go through Copilot's foundational functionality with different programming use cases.

 

Coding with Gen AI will cover ideal uses for Copilot, pitfalls that may occur and how to avoid them. Additionally, we will include tips for prompting to get the most out of Copilot. Lastly, we will discuss ethical considerations when using these AI tools.

 

This workshop is offered by University Libraries and will be led by librarians Matt Jansen and Rolando Rodriguez.
