Python Crash Courses: Intro to Data
The Python Crash Course: Intro to Data introduces fundamental tools for working with tabular data in Python such as Pandas, Jupyter Notebooks, and data visualization packages. We'll work through some applied examples and survey more specialized packages for data science in Python and talk about next steps on your learning journey.
This workshop assumes some basic familiarity with Python syntax (for example see “A Whirlwind Tour of Python”). This workshop will use conda via miniforge, and Visual Studio Code. Setup help will be available before the first session.
This workshop is offered by University Libraries and will be led by librarians Philip McDaniel, Lorin Bruckner, Michele Hayslett, Matt Jansen, and Rolando Rodriguez along with Mark Reed from ITS Research Computing. Contact Matt Jansen with any questions.
This workshop is being offered remotely via Zoom only. Registrants will receive a Zoom link; those on the waitlist will not receive a Zoom link unless they are bumped up to a registered spot. After the workshop, registrants and those on the waitlist will receive a link to the workshop recording.
