Tableau II
This workshop continues to explore methods used in creating interactive visualizations and dashboards as introduced in Tableau I. Topics covered will include: merging data sources, groups and sets, advanced maps and interactive menus, dashboard actions and more!
This workshop will also be streamed live to the Health Sciences Library. Register to attend the streaming workshop at the Health Sciences Library. A previous offering of this workshop is available as a recording.
NOTE: This workshop requires you to bring a laptop with Tableau installed. Please follow the instructions below to download and install Tableau. If you are unable to install the software, please contact Lorin Bruckner for help.
If you are a STUDENT:
- Go to https://www.tableau.com/academic/students
- Click on "GET TABLEAU FOR FREE"
- Complete and submit the form provided.
- You should recieve an email with instructions for downloading and installing Tableau along with a lincense key.
If you are an INSTRUCTOR or using Tableau for NON-PROFIT RESEARCH:
- Go to https://www.tableau.com/academic/teaching
- Click on "REQUEST INDIVIDUAL LICENSE"
- Complete and submit the form provided.
- You should recieve an email with instructions for downloading and installing Tableau along with a lincense key.
If you are NOT a student, instructor or non-profit researcher:
- Go to https://public.tableau.com/
- Type your e-mail address into the text box and click on "Download the App".
- You should automatically be prompted to download a file. Save it to your computer.
- After downloading the file, double click on it and follow the instructions to install Tableau.
To save the work we do in the workshop, you will need a Tableau Public Profile. Follow the instructions below to create one.
- Go to https://public.tableau.com/
- In the upper right corner, click on "SIGN IN".
- At the bottom of the window that pops up, click on "Create one now for free".
- Fill out the form and click on "Create my Profile".
